Burwell residents are being asked to stay out of the Burwell City Park until further notice. Do not drive down into the Burwell City Park.
The Burwell Damn at the City Park is is still in tact. The damn has not broken, water has flowed over the spillway and around the damn causing the rise in the river level Anyone that lives downstream of the Burwell City Park Damn that has left their home can go to the Parish Center in Burwell for shelter. To clarify, this is NOT the Calamus Damn, we are referring to the Damn located in the City park in Burwell.
The City of Sargent has declared an emergency. All streets in Sargent are flooded and travel is not advised. Stay home and stay safe.

Highway 96 the Burwell Lake Road to Highway 183 is now closed.
The Ord Damn is also still in tact. Like Burwell, the water spilled over the top and around the sides of the damn causing the river level to rise. The North Loup Community Center is now open as a shelter for those who are having to evacuate their home in the North Loup area.
