ORD, NEB. – The Central Nebraska Farm Safety 4 Just kids has announced their annual Progressive Agriculture Safety Day being planned for Tuesday, June 4, 2019 at the Valley County Fairgrounds.
Registration forms have been sent to area schools and parents should look for the forms being sent home with their children. Forms are also available to local UNL Extension Office, local NRCS offices and some area businesses.
This year’s registration fee is free thanks to a generous donation from Cargill to cover each child attending the safety day.
Early registration is encouraged with anticipated interest in attendance will be very high this year. There are on 200 spots for youth to register.
PLEASE REMEMBER TO SEND REGISTRATIONS TO THE ADDRESS ON THE FORM, DO NOT RETURN THEM TO THE SCHOOL.

Each participant will receive a free lunch courtesy of Green Plains LLC, a take-home goodie bag, and a safety day t-shirt.
Smedra and her co-coordinator is happy to announce that many generous donations have been received and will allow each participant to receive a goodie bag full of fun and useful safety and health items for themselves and their families to use this summer.
Youth attending this years farm safety day will participate in interactive sessions that reinforce the importance of taking responsibility for their own safety, respecting parent’s safety rules and sharing safety tips with their families and friends.

This summer, safety days such as the one being hosted by the Central NE Farm Safety 4 Just Kids chapter in Ord, are being held in many locations in the United States and Canada to teach rural children how to prevent injuries and reduce the risk of farm incidents. International, and state sponsors of the Progressive Agriculture Foundation hope participants will maintain a healthy respect for farm hazards throughout their lives, and that, ultimately, the numbers of deaths and injuries among rural children will decline.
