The Custer County Salvation Army is pleased to report the 2019 Red Kettle Campaign resulted in $10,052.66 being collected to benefit Custer County projects. During 2019, the Salvation Army provided school bags and supplies to over 180 students and Christmas toys to nearly 200 children through Santa Cop. Financial Assistance was given to the Children’s Christmas Fund, DYO Youth Organization,Junior Golf League, Flood Assistance, Diaper Depot, Meals for Seniors recovering from illness or surgery, Food Pantries in Broken Bow, Sargent,Callaway, and Arnold, Swimming Lessons in Broken Bow, Ansley, Sargent, Callaway, and Arnold, Book Fairs in Broken Bow, Ansley, Anselmo- Merna, Arnold, Callaway, and Sargent, College Textbook assistance for Foster Children, Vision, Medical, Dental, and RX assistance. In addition, emergency assistance is available for fire and weather victims.
The Red Kettle Campaign and the Cliff Luther Endowment make these events possible. Special recognition is given to Gary’s Super Foods, Orscheln Farm & Home, Tumbleweed, and Grocery Kart for providing locations for the stands, and the dedicated bell ringers.
