Nebraska State High School Rodeo Finals were previously held in Hastings, NE and this year they opted not to hold the event, which allowed Burwell, NE the chance to step up and host the event at the Garfield County Fairgrounds. The Nebraska’s Big Rodeo Board, Burwell/Ord High School Rodeo Team parents, and numerous volunteers did an excellent job of preparing the grounds and holding the rodeo on short notice.
After three days of rodeo competition, the team of student athletes that will represent Nebraska at the NSHFR July 17-23 was determined.

The National High School Finals Rodeo will be held at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, OK July 17th-23rd this year. Previously, the event was to be held in Lincoln, NE at the Lancaster Event Center. But due to the threat of Covid-19, the event had to be moved to a different location, and since the Lazy E Arena has been able to host many different events successfully in the last couple of months the decision was made to move the event this year.
