
Nebraska’s Big Rodeo in Burwell kicked off this morning with the timed event slack. There are around 900 contestants entered into the 99th Annual Nebraska’s Big Rodeo. Timed event slack consisted of Team Roping, Tie Down Roping and Steer Wrestling contestants competing before the rodeo officially begins Wednesday evening.
Current Steer wrestling leaders: 1. Kalane Anders, 4.2 seconds; 2. Billy Boldon, 4.6; 3. Jake Kraupie, 5.1; 4. Lane Day, 5.6; 5. (tie) Jake Fulton and Wynn Schaack, 6.0 each.
Current Team roping leaders: 1. (tie) Jake Cooper/Caleb Anderson and Jake Orman/Brye Crites, 6.3 seconds each; 3. Eli Lord/Haven Meged, 6.6; 4. Levi Simpson/Shay Dixon Carroll, 7.0; 5. Jaguar Terrill/Tyler Whitlow, 7.1; 6. Austin Crist/T.J. Watts, 7.2.
Current Tie-down roping leaders: 1. Blake Ash, 9.9 seconds; 2. Ty Harris, 10.2; 3. Cory Dummit, 10.3; 4. Westyn Hughes, 11.2; 5. (tie) Haven Meged and Austin Hurlburt, 11.4 each.
Keep in mind, these placings will change as the rodeo goes on.
Barrel Racing slack will begin Wednesday morning at 8 am, the Steer Roping will be Thursday morning at 8 am, and regular rodeo performances will begin at 7:30 pm Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
