Breweries from Luxembourg to Louisiana sent in more than 6,000 beers representing over 140 different styles for the 2020 U.S. Open Beer Championship this fall in Oxford, Ohio. Scratchtown Brewing Company again brought home hardware, receiving Gold medal honors for Black Eye Imperial Porter in the Imperial Porter category, Gold in American-style Black Ale for Raven Twins DIPA, and Bronze in Session IPA for Single Twin Session IPA.
Scratchtown was the only central Nebraska brewery to medal in this year’s event, and the state’s only multiple-Gold winning medalist. It also marks the sixth straight medal for Black Eye Imperial Porter, making it the most awarded imperial porter in the nation. The US Open is the United States’ second largest blind beer judging contest, with international brewers establishing an incredibly competitive field. Nebraska brewers brought home multiple medals, continuing its winning tradition as a state as well.
