In the early morning hours of June 28, 2021, the Ord Police Department was called to respond to an Assault which occurred in the 100 block of North 22nd Street in Ord, Nebraska. Investigation of the incident alleges that Jesse Winer, age 35 of Ord, broke into his estranged wife’s house, assaulted her, and threatened to kill her. When she tried to get out of the house, Winer allegedly tackled her and choked her and kept her from leaving the house. The victim was able to eventually escape and made her way to a friend’s house to summon the police and Winer was unable to be located.
Based upon an affidavit prepared by an officer with the Ord Police Department, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Jesse Winer for: Burglary; class 2A felony, False Imprisonment; class 3A felony, Terroristic Threats; class 3A felony, and Assault by Strangulation or suffocation; class 3A felony.
On June 30, 2021, Jesse Winer was located in Burwell, Nebraska and arrested on the warrant issued in Valley County Court.
The Ord Police Department was assisted in this investigation by the Valley County Sheriff’s Office, the Sherman County Sheriff’s Office and the Burwell Police Department.
