Some of our nation’s bravest heroes were honored Saturday in Omaha. A total of 51 paratroopers who gave the ultimate sacrifice will be remembered forever at Memorial Park. Two of the paratroopers were from Nebraska. One of them, Army Staff Sergeant Ken Locker Jr. of Burwell, is remembered for a lot of things. He was a father, son, and a man dedicated to his country. He was killed by and improvised explosive in Iraq in 2007. He was just 28 years old. He is now remembered as one of many who will be etched for generations to come at Memorial Park. More than 20 Gold Star Families made the journey to Omaha from across the nation to hear the names of their loved ones read off one last time for a final roll call. The Gold Star Families know their loved ones will always be cherished.
