On Friday Broken Bow Fire and Rescue were dispatched to Adams Land and Cattle for a mechanical fire in the feed mill loadout at the south lot at around 8:15 am, according to Broken Bow Fire Chief Jason Baum. Merna Fire crews also were on the scene. No injuries were reported for any humans or cattle. Adams Land and Cattle President Abram Babcock said, “We are thankful for our local volunteer firefighters who responded quickly and worked to extinguish the fire…”
At around 4 p.m. on Friday, a grass fire was reported south of Broken Bow off of Highway 21. An REA pole was struck by lightning and burned around five acres according to Chief Baum. Broken Bow, Merna, and Oconto fire crews were on the scene until around 5 p.m. and no injuries were reported.
