A one vehicle accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. Saturday May 7 one mile west of Berwyn. According to the Custer County Sheriff’s Office a gray 2010 Ford Edge driven by Sharlene Peterson left Highway 2. The driver was heading westbound on Highway 2 when she had a medical episode occur and lost control of her vehicle. The vehicle left the road on the south side of Highway 2 and into a field and then into some trees where it collided with a tree and stopped. Peterson suffered some injuries above her right eyebrow. Her passenger didn’t suffer and injuries and was able to exit the vehicle and signal some help.
