Vallen Bateman, 36, of Hastings was sentence in federal court for possession with intent to distribute 50 grams of more of methamphetamine. According to the acting United States Attorney Steven Russell, on June 24, Batemen was sentenced to 66 months in prison and after her release she will begin a five-year term of supervised release. On September 28, 2020, law enforcement serving a federal arrest warrant for John Wizinsky at a residence in Grand Island, following his indictment for distributing methamphetamine. Wizinsky was arrested and Bateman was also there. Bateman had an active warrant for her arrest in Howard County and was also arrested at that time. She then admitted to having marijuana in her possession in her backpack. When search by police they found 80 grams of methamphetamine, a scale and 13 grams of marijuana in her backpack
