Republican Charles Herbster is playing politics again after losing a bid to be Nebraska’s next governor and now he is demanding two promises from Nebraska lawmaker’s. Herbster has put to pledges to both state senators and to anyone who is running for the Legislature this November. The first is calling for all the votes for leadership post in Legislature, such as for Speaker of Legislature and Committee Chairmanships, be made public which would break a long-standing tradition of secret ballots. The second pledge has Herbster looking to confirm “they support the Second Amendment” by signing on for a bill that would allow Nebraskans to carry concealed weapons without obtaining a permit first.
