A Nebraska man who still maintains that he wasn’t even at a fatal shooting in 1999 that he was convicted of being involved was denied a pardon on Monday. He was even denied this pardon with the support of the victim’s family. Earnest Jackson asked the Pardons Board to intervene in his case after two men who said that they were responsible for the shooting and also testified that Jackson was there were both acquitted in the shooting of Larry Perry in Omaha. One of the men acquitted claimed that he shot Perry in self defense and was found to be not guilty. But at that point Jackson had already been convicted of the crime and he has already been in prison for 22 years.
