The Grand Island Police found a handgun that was stolen in Grand Island this spring in the possession of a juvenile. On Thursday, Grand Island Police were asked to assist juvenile probation with a search of the suspected teen’s residence. During this search they found a firearm that had been partially defaced and they were able to trace the gun back to one that had been reported stolen out of a vehicle that had been left unlocked on April 6th of this year. Police said that the 15-year-old teen admitted to taking the handgun from the vehicle and he was referred for possession of a stolen firearm among other charges as well.
