Merrick County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a loud explosion south of Central City in Stranburg Park. The explosion occurred around 3:40 p.m. Thursday and upon arrival the deputies found a semi the was engulfed in flames. Investigators believe that the trailer was stolen a village about 7 miles east named Hordville the sheriff’s office said. The Merrick County Sheriff’s Office and the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office are asking anyone with information about the explosion to contact their offices.
