Around 6:45 p.m. Officers with the Omaha Police Department responded to a call near Saddle Creek Road and California Street where it was report that a cyclist had been hit by a truck. The straight semi truck that belonged to the U.S. Postal Service was driven by a 57-year-old. The driver and a passerby were performing CPR on the cyclist when officers arrived on scene. The cyclist was identified as 46-year-old Gregory Whitedress. Paramedics with the Omaha Fire Department continued performing life saving measures on Whitedress and they transported him to the a nearby hospital. Whitedress died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
