Metro area authorities are investigating a homicide for a body that was found in the area of 66th and Rainwood Road. A pedestrian found the body and called police at around 3:45 p.m. on Monday. When deputies arrived at the scene the body was found 15 feet off the roadway. Authorities have not been able to identify the body yet, and they have scheduled an autopsy be done on the body. In the last seven months this will be the second homicide investigation for bodies found in the area of Rainwood Road. Officials say that at this time there is no evidence to suggest that the two crimes are related. Also in addition to the two murder cases, deputies also received a call in the area of Rainwood Road from last week about the discovery of a skeletonized body part being found in the area. In that case the Sheriff’s Office is having experts test DNS that was extracted from the remains to try to get possible identification.
