Lane Michael Claypool, 28, of New London, Connecticut formerly of the Ord and Burwell areas passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on May 6, 2023, following a motorcycle accident.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Elyria Hall in Elyria, Nebraska at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 15, 2023, (Lane’s Birthday). Memorials are suggested to The Family. ordmemorialchapel.com
Lane was born July 15, 1994, to Dustin Claypool and Teresa (Hughes) at Kearney Nebraska. Lane attended the Ord and Burwell public schools, graduating from Ord in 2013. After graduation Lane became a welder and worked at Chief Industries until 2017. While in Kearney Lane also worked at TK Whips, detailing cars.
In June 2017, Lane got the opportunity to go to Motorcycle Mechanic Institute to pursue a career in Harley Davidson motorcycles, graduating in October of 2018. Following graduation, Lane worked at MMI Tank and Trailer as a welder and at the Road Runner Saloon as security as well as various other jobs.
In May of 2021, Lane got the opportunity to move to New London, Connecticut to work at Mike’s Famous Harley Davidson where he worked until his death.
Lane was a kindhearted, hardworking soul. He loved all animals. Lane enjoyed boxing for Ord Boxing Club, coached by his dad and Dan Klimek as well as hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends, but most of all his love for his bikes. Lane made friends everywhere and did not have any enemies. Lane would give the shirt off his back and help anyone that needed it.
Left to honor his memory are his parents, Teresa and Michael Rayno of Minden and Dustin and Cherish Claypool of Ord; siblings, Zachary Smith of Camp Lejeune, Jacksonville North Carolina, Addyson Meyer of Minden, Caitlynn Claypool of Valentine, Xander Claypool-Smedra of Ord, Lane and Olivia Gregory of Ord; grandparents, Mike and Sandy Hughes of Burwell, Larry and Roz Lindstrom of North Platte, John Rayno of Omaha, Evelyn Stephens and Larry Hlavinka of Ord, and Rhonda Williams of Columbus; and any aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Dale Claypool and Steve Williams.
Lane will continue to touch many lives in his death as he did in his life; as he was an organ and tissue donor.
