Nebraska’s top football recruit for the class of 2025, Christian Jones, committed to the Cornhuskers on Monday night. Jones, a four-star linebacker from Omaha Westside High School, becomes the 19th commitment in Nebraska’s 2025 recruiting class. With his addition, Nebraska’s class ranks just outside the top 25, landing at No. 26 overall according to 247Sports.
Last season, Jones made an impact on both sides of the ball, recording 69 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, and two defensive touchdowns. On offense, he hauled in 20 receptions for 500 yards and scored nine touchdowns.
Recently named a 2025 Polynesian Bowl All-Star, Jones joins the ranks of other notable Nebraska recruits such as quarterback Dylan Raiola, wide receiver Carter Nelson, and offensive lineman Preston Taumua, who participated in the 2024 edition of the game. The Polynesian Bowl will take place on Friday, January 17, at Kunuiakea Stadium in Honolulu, Hawaii, with a 6:00 p.m. CT kickoff.
Jones’ commitment continues Nebraska’s streak of securing the top in-state talent, following the signings of wide receiver Malachi Coleman in 2022 and tight end Carter Nelson in 2023.
