Mary Ann Ryan, of Grand Island passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at her home in Grand Island, Nebraska at the age of 75.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, at the Greeley United Methodist Church in Greeley, Nebraska. Pastor Arsene Lumami will officiate. Interment will be in the Greeley Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday at the church beginning at 10:00 a.m. Memorials are suggested to the family’s choice. T.J. Mary Ann was born June 28, 1949, at Ord, Nebraska to Henry W. and Emma A. (Johnson) Dutcher. She grew up on the family farm nine miles northwest of Greeley, then moved into Greeley in 1964. Mary Ann received her elementary education at Greeley and graduated from Greeley High School in 1967.
Following high school she worked at the Spalding Hospital. In 1975, she began her career at the Greeley Care Home. Mary Ann worked in various roles at the care home during her 35 years of employment.
On June 7, 1986, Mary Ann and James M. Ryan, Jr. were united in marriage at Greeley, Nebraska. The couple resided in Greeley then moved to Grand Island to be closer to family. James passed away on September 30, 2022.
Mary Ann was an avid reader, especially Daniel Steel books. She made a lot of crafts and embroidered. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family and being a grandma.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Jaci and Rock Menyweather of Grand Island; seven grandchildren, Ashley (Kyle) Suttles, Anthony (Kayla) Steenson, Jordyn Steenson, Cole Kleffner, Shayla Kleffner (Alberto Ochoa) and Dawsyn and Jayde Menyweather; six great-grandchildren, Shanae, Caejon, Baelyn and Knyton Suttles and Gavin and Audrey Steenson; a sister, Linda Dorey; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Frank (Gayle) Ryan, Dan Ryan and Marilyn Thober; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; a daughter, Lisa Dutcher; brothers-in-law, Paul Dorey, Tim, Ed and Dick Ryan and sister-in-law Sally Ryan.
