Troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol arrested two individuals after discovering more than 20 pounds of suspected fentanyl and cocaine during a routine traffic stop near Lexington.
The incident occurred on the morning of June 8 around 11:30 a.m., when a trooper pulled over a Honda CRV for speeding on Interstate 80 near mile marker 239. During the stop, the trooper developed reasonable suspicion of criminal activity, prompting a search of the vehicle.
Inside, troopers located multiple packages containing what is believed to be a combined total of 23 pounds of fentanyl and cocaine.
The vehicle’s occupants, both from The Bronx, New York, were taken into custody and booked into the Dawson County Jail. They face charges of possession of cocaine, possession of fentanyl, and possession with intent to deliver.
