GRAND ISLAND — A Grand Island woman is facing multiple charges after police say she was found in a stolen vehicle with a firearm on Wednesday evening, August 13.
According to the Grand Island Police Department, officers were called to the Central District Health Department on South Locust Street for a welfare check. Upon arrival, they made contact with Darla Smith, who was inside a vehicle that had been reported stolen.
Police say Smith was taken into custody and is accused of possessing a firearm as a prohibited person. She also faces charges of theft by receiving stolen property, false reporting, resisting arrest (first offense), and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Smith was booked into the Hall County Department of Corrections.
