Nebraska State Patrol investigators believe a body discovered last week in the Panhandle is that of 32-year-old Ebram Sifuentes of Alliance, who had been missing since August 27. An autopsy conducted Monday identified the remains as Sifuentes, though authorities say additional testing is underway to provide full confirmation.
Two people are now facing charges in connection with his death. Authorities have charged 26-year-old Tamara Bingham of Alliance, who had been in a relationship with Sifuentes, with first-degree murder and abandoning a body. Court records show that just days before her arrest, Bingham filed a protection order against Sifuentes, alleging abuse and claiming he had threatened her life with a gun on more than one occasion.
Also charged is 36-year-old Matthew Landreth of Alliance, who faces one count of accessory to a felony. Both Bingham and Landreth are being held without bail at the Box Butte County Jail and are scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
