A 33-year-old Grand Island man is behind bars after allegedly attacking a woman and causing severe injuries during a domestic dispute. Awadella Adam has been charged in Hall County Court with first-degree domestic assault causing serious bodily injury and misdemeanor child abuse.
According to the arrest affidavit, the victim told Grand Island Police that Adam struck her in the face and head multiple times while she was holding a child, and later pushed her down a flight of stairs. Doctors confirmed that the woman suffered an internal brain bleed as a result of the assault.
Adam is scheduled to appear in Hall County Court for arraignment on Thursday, with his bond set at 10% of $250,000.
