MERRICK COUNTY, Neb. — A 16-year-old boy was taken to the hospital following a single-vehicle rollover accident early Friday morning. According to the Merrick County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred on County Road L, just west of Highway 14.
Investigators say the teen was driving a 2010 Toyota RAV4 when he lost control, veered into the south ditch, and the vehicle rolled over. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and was transported to Merrick Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities believe alcohol may have been a contributing factor in the crash. The Central City Fire Department and Central City Ambulance assisted deputies at the scene.
