Dorothy A. Frye of Ord passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, at Arbor Care Center in Ord, Nebraska at the age of 92.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, December 19, 2025, at the Ord Memorial Chapel. Pastor Doug Durre will officiate. Inurnment will be in the Cottonwood Cemetery at Burwell, Nebraska. Ord Memorial Chapel is assisting with the arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.ordmemorialchapel.com
Dorothy Ann was born on April 26, 1933, in Garfield County, Nebraska to Emil and Anna (Hulinsky) Ruzicka.
Dorothy and Robert L. “Bob” Frye were united in marriage on May 27, 1950, at St. Paul, Nebraska. The couple resided and farmed five miles southeast of Burwell until 2000, when they purchased a home in Ord. Dorothy and Bob spent 73 years together until Bob passed away on June 29, 2023.
Dorothy was an accomplished seamstress and quilter and enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include her two children, Bill Frye of Pierce and Joan Coleman of Sun City, Arizona; three grandchildren, Travis and Sasha Frye of Cedar Creek, Stephanie and Vernon Johnson of Mabelvale, Arkansas and Jeremy and Gina Coleman of Houston, Texas; six great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bob; three sisters, Blanche Oliva, Marie Michalski and Irma Kruml; two brothers, Bill and Bob Ruzicka; and a son-in-law, Dick Coleman.
