A Grand Island man charged following a burglary at a Norfolk church has reached a plea agreement. Thirty-four-year-old Gregory Major pleaded no contest to attempted burglary and possession of a controlled substance.
According to court records, Norfolk Police responded in September to a report of a trespasser inside Grace Lutheran Church on Park Avenue. Officers determined Major entered the church through a closed but unlocked door. He was later found inside a family restroom, where police discovered an empty gallon container of chocolate milk and a trash bag containing items belonging to the church. Authorities also reported Major was in possession of a bottle of lotion taken from the church.
Major was arrested at the scene and booked into the Madison County Jail. He is scheduled to appear in Madison County District Court for sentencing at nine o’clock on the morning of April ninth.
