Authorities in Merrick County responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash south of County Road I on 2nd Road. According to the Merrick County Sheriff’s Office, a preliminary investigation found that a 2010 Honda Civic was traveling southbound when it left the roadway, entered the west ditch, and rolled over.
All occupants of the vehicle suffered minor injuries. The juvenile driver was transported to CHI Health St. Francis in Grand Island for evaluation. Investigators believe alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash. The driver was cited for driving under the influence and minor in possession of alcohol. Two additional occupants were also cited for minor in possession before being released.
Grand Island EMS assisted the Merrick County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
