Hastings Public Library is taking part in the second annual Library Fall Crawl, a statewide event encouraging Nebraskans to explore libraries across the state from Sept. 1 through Nov. 30, 2026.
More than 100 libraries in 109 Nebraska communities are participating in this year’s event, offering residents the chance to discover new libraries, attend programs, explore unique spaces and learn more about the resources and services available at libraries throughout Nebraska.
Free Library Fall Crawl booklets are available at Hastings Public Library. Participants can take their booklets with them as they visit participating libraries across the state. At each stop, visitors will receive a sticker to add to their booklet and mark their visit.
“Libraries are so much more than a building with books, and the Fall Crawl is a fun way to experience that firsthand,” said Sam Rundle, Programming & Collections Supervisor. “Every library has something a little different to offer, and we’re excited to welcome Fall Crawl participants to Hastings while encouraging our community to see what other libraries around Nebraska have to offer.”
Participants who collect stickers from at least 10 different libraries will be eligible to enter a statewide prize drawing. The center page of the booklet can be submitted at the participant’s home library or at the 10th library they visit.
The Nebraska Regional Library Systems are sponsoring the event and providing four prize baskets, with one winner selected from each Library System. Winners will be announced Dec. 21, 2026.
For those looking to take their library adventure even further, anyone who visits more than 30 participating libraries will receive an exclusive 2026 Library Fall Crawl tote bag.
The Library Fall Crawl is sponsored by the Nebraska Regional Library Systems. The project is made possible through grants from the State of Nebraska and the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, administered by the Nebraska Library Commission.
