NORTH LOUP — The Valley County Board of Supervisors voted to pay for half of a bridge project near the Greeley County line.
The bridge sits off of Highway 11, south of North Loup. In September, Greeley County voted to purchase the bridge material and replace the bridge for a total cost of $35,000. They feel like this is the best way to protect it from corn stalks and other debris plugging.
Valley County had believed the situation could be resolved with a lower-cost option. They had passed motion to pay for half a culvert project, instead. That was rescinded with the vote this week after a visit and discussion with Greeley Commissioner Doug Wrede.
A timeline for the project is not yet known.
