A Christmas tree lighting kicked-off the holiday season in Burwell. Gabe Altieri has the story.
BURWELL — Burwell and the surrounding area welcomed the holiday season with the annual Christmas tree lighting on the Garfield County Courthouse lawn.
The day featured music, food and events for kids, all in the spirit of bringing the community together.
“This is what it’s all about this time of year,” Chamber of Commerce Director David Sawyer said. “A lot of our retailers in the downtown Burwell area really look forward to this and the opportunity to serve their customers in a little bit more festive way.”
The night is also a reminder of what Burwell has to offer during the shopping season. Various chamber events over the next month are set up to encourage folks to buy local.
