GRAND ISLAND — A Netherlands company has decided to build a chicken hatchery in Grand Island.
Hendrix Genetics says the $10 million, 60,000 foot facility will house 24 million chicks per year. It’s the third such hatchery the company has in the United States.
Construction on the hatchery is set for this spring with operations beginning in 2017.
It’s expected to create 35 to 50 jobs.
