LINCOLN — A new infrastructure package that would accelerate long-delayed and bridge projects is being championed by Governor Ricketts and he wants lawmakers to do the same.
The proposal would create an infrastructure bank, allowing the state to tap its cash reserve to pay for road and bridge projects faster than it currently can.
That money would gradually be replaced by state fuel tax revenue.
The bank could be used for state highway projects, county bridge repairs and infrastructure to attract new businesses.
