LINCOLN — A piece of legislation has floated around the Nebraska Legislature that would protect consumer information and it has the backing of Attorney General Doug Peterson.
The bill would allow parent to freeze a minor’s credit report in cases of identity theft. It also expands the definition of deceptive solicitation on behalf of charity.
The proposal would modernize Nebraska consumer protection laws and give the attorney general’s office the ability to conduct stronger investigations.
