ALBION — After launching his campaign in June, Boone County’s Tom Briese filed his paperwork to enter the race for the 41st District Legislative Seat.
That district covers Valley, Garfield, Wheeler, Greeley, Howard, Boone, Sherman, Pierce and Antelope Counties.
KNLV spoke with Briese when he announced his campaign in June about issues facing the state, focusing on one issue in particular.
“We have to address the need for property tax relief. Beyond property tax relief we have to have a fair-and-balanced tax structure, a tax structure that’s competitive with other states, that will attract business and industry to our state,” he explains.
The Boone County Farmer now waits for the primary on May 10th before the November 8th general election.
He’s targeting the seat held by Kate Sullivan of Cedar Rapids. She’s been in that position since 2008, but is hitting her term limit at the end of this year.
