LINCOLN — A second-degree murder conviction has been upheld for a Norfolk man by the Nebraska Supreme Court.
De’Aris Trice was convicted in 2013 for the stabbing death of Timothy Warren at a Norfolk house party. However, the state supreme court ordered a new trial, citing problems with jury instructions.
Trice was found guilty again in 2014 and sentenced to 40 years in prison.
In his latest appeal, Trice argued the trial court was wrong to allow transcripts of statements from some witnesses as evidence and that his sentence was excessive.
The high court ruled that there was no evidence that the trial court acted wrongly.
