ORD — The storm continues to cause problems for removal crews across central Nebraska.
The Nebraska Department of Roads has closed Interstate 80 from Lincoln to North Platte and shutdown travel in Howard, Buffalo, Hall, Hamilton and Merrick Counties.
In Valley County, Highway Superintendent Jay Meyers says road clearing looks to pick back up in the early morning hours. “We’ll start at 5 AM tomorrow morning, weather permitting,” he explains. “We’re going to try to get one-way through everything, tomorrow, and then, for the rest of the week, we’re going to come back and widen all the roads.”
That goes across state highways, as well, where Don Stiger of the State High Department is urging caution. “We’re advising no travel tonight, at all,” he says. “With the way the visibility has been, and the wind, and the snow blowing around, we haven’t been able to go back out,”
