LINCOLN — A measure has been given first-round approval in the Nebraska Legislature that would allow drivers to be on the road legally with only a rear license plate.
Drivers would be allowed to have a decal on their front windshield, instead.
Nebraska requires vehicles to display front and rear license plates, but has created numerous exemptions over the years. This includes tractor trailers, motorcycles and buses, among others.
The DMV would charge a $100 fee for the decal option.
