LINCOLN — The man who Nebraska tried to buy lethal injection drugs from won’t provide a refund to the state.
Nebraska wan’t allowed to import the drugs from Harris Pharma because they weren’t approved by the FDA. The company’s CEO, Chris Harris, says the failure to import in the state’s fault and he won’t repay the $26,700.
He also indicated a willingness to still import the drugs should they be approved.
Governor Ricketts has stopped trying to import death penalty drugs until after the voters decided whether to keep capital punishment in the fall.
