LINCOLN — A measure has advanced to the Nebraska legislative floor that would expedite bridge and road work.
The measure would withdraw $50 million from the state’s cash reserve to create an infrastructure bank. The Nebraska Department of Roads could use the money to fund highway work, give grants to counties and improve roads that would be likely to attract new business.
In addition, the fund would use money from the fuel tax increase that was passed last year.
