LINCOLN — Property tax relief may yet be coming this legislative session.
As the final weeks approach, the Revenue Committee has advanced a bill that’s been championed by Governor Ricketts.
The measure would give farmers and ranchers a larger credit to offset local property tax burden, while the amount available for commercial and residential property would remain the same.
This legislation would also impose budget restrictions on community colleges, which rely partially on property taxes.
Ricketts called the advancement a key step forward for property tax relief.
