LINCOLN — A proposal has won first-round approval in the Nebraska Legislature that would create more regulations for police in regard to body cameras.
The idea is to have the Nebraska Crime Commission to develop a policy for body-worn cameras. Agencies would need to adopt that model or create their own.
The recordings could be withheld from the public under an exception to the state public records law.
No senator voted against the bill.
