CHAMBERS — An invasive plant infestation has forced Goose Lake to close, yet again.
The recreation area is about ten miles southeast of Chambers.
The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission plans to treat the area later this month to remove the infestation of Eurasian Watermilfoil.
The plants leaves and stem fragments can be carried on boats, trailers and other aquatic equipment to other bodies of water. It spreads rapidly and creates dense surface mats.
The lake has already closed once due to the infestation in September, before opening back up in January.
