Abdikarin Ali, 49, pled not guilty in Hall County Court on Tuesday to charges of labor/sex trafficking, two counts of first-degree sexual assault and one count of assault by strangulation or suffocation and is set for a court pretrial hearing on July 13. According to the Grand Island Police Department, in April, officers received a call to Centennial Towers, public housing apartment in the 900 block of North Boggs Avenue, after dispatch had gotten a report a woman sent a text message to a third party that a sexual assault had occurred. Upon arrival police officers found the woman unconscious on a bed with pants tied around her neck. The woman later stated that three men had sexually assaulted her. The victim says all three men who identified as Ali, Simon Benn, and Adam Chambers had all sexually assaulted her and all suspect also grabbing her by the throat and impeding her breathing. Adam Chambers pled not guilty in Hall County Court to charges of labor/sex trafficking, three counts of first-degree sexual assault, assault by strangulation or suffocation and criminal possession of financial transaction devices. Simon Been pled not guilty in Hall County Court to charges of labor/sex trafficking, three counts of first-degree sexual assault and assault by strangulation and suffocation.
