Acting U.S. Attorney Steven Russell said that 39-year-old Jeffrey Rongish, of Omaha was sentenced to serve 10 years in prison on Friday for accessing with intent to view child pornography. He will serve 15 years of supervised release after he completes his prison sentence. According to documents, Rongish was convicted of receiving child pornography in 2014 in the District of Nebraska. While he was on supervised release for that conviction on Nov. 23, 2020 he told his probation officer that head returned to viewing child pornographic imagines again. Officials said that on March 2, 2021 they seized Rongish’s devices in a search and found that the had presences of file wiping software and artifacts that confirmed the accessing of child pornography websites on the devices. This case was investigated by the Omaha FBI’s Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force.
