NORTH PLATTE, Neb. – Over the weekend, the North Platte Police Department carried out a high visibility enforcement operation focused on drug-impaired driving. Throughout this period, from April 19-21, officers made a total of 25 traffic stops.
During these stops, one driver was cited for running a traffic signal, and another received citations for careless driving and exhibition of speed. Additionally, two individuals were cited for driving without insurance, two for operating vehicles without valid registration, and one for driving without a license. There was also one arrest for possession of a controlled substance.
This enforcement effort was supported by the Special Traffic Enforcement Program Grant, which provides overtime reimbursement and is funded by the Nebraska Department of Transportation Highway Safety Office.
