
Daryl Moses of Amelia passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell, Nebraska on April 2, 2026, at the age of 79.
Daryl was born on August 9, 1946, in a house on the Bob Clifford Ranch in Holt County, Nebraska, as the son of Owen Kenneth and Beulah May (Dexter) Moses. Early in his childhood, the family relocated to a ranch in southwest Holt County. He received his early education in a one-room country school three miles from his home and graduated from Burwell High School in 1964.
Daryl continued his education at Chadron State College, where he earned a degree in Math and Science in 1968. Following graduation, he taught at Chugwater, Wyoming, for several years. On June 1, 1972, Daryl and Pamela Jean Trimble were united in marriage in Glendo, Wyoming.
Furthering his own academic pursuits, Daryl achieved a master’s degree from the University of Wyoming and dedicated himself to educating junior high students in math in Rock Springs, Wyoming, until 1992.
In 1992, Daryl and his family returned home to the family ranch in Nebraska, enjoying ranch life alongside his parents. He also found joy in fishing excursions with his twin brother, Dale, and treasured numerous family trips.
Daryl is survived by his children Aaron and Tami Moses of Omaha, Paul and Joni Moses of Amelia and Rachael Moses and Scott Pelster of Ewing; grandchildren, August Moses, Braiden (Audren) Moses, Triston Moses, Jayna Moses, Ethan Moses, Ella Moses, Ayden Moses, and Avrie, Jack and Kennedi Pelster; brother and sister-in-law, Orin and BJ Moses of Spirit Lake, Idaho; sister, Marilyn Nelson of Ord; sister-in-law, Sandra Gerstner of Joliet, Montana; three aunts, Opal Kirkpatrick, Marlene Dexter, and Delores Dexter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Pamela; twin brother, Dale; sister-in-law, Bert Huff; and brother-in-law, Rollin Nelson.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 13, 2026, at Calamus Trinity Methodist Church in Burwell, Nebraska. Pastor Stephen Williams will officiate. Interment will be in the Cottonwood Cemetery at Burwell, Nebraska. The family will greet friends at the church on Monday from 10 a.m. until service time. Memorials are suggested to the Chamber Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department or Donor’s Choice. Still Waters Funeral Parlor is assisting with the arrangements.
