Linda Robbins of Burwell, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the age of 71.
Born on July 17, 1954, in Burwell, Nebraska, Linda was the beloved daughter of Elwood Walter “Woody” and Alice Irene “Irene” (Boag) Nelson. She grew up in the Burwell community, where she attended Gold Standard Country School and graduated from Burwell High School in 1972.
On September 1, 1973, Linda married Martin Roy Robbins at the First Christian Church in Burwell, Nebraska. Linda was the devoted mother of four children, raising her family with care and dedication. As her children grew older, Linda explored various professional paths and found herself to be adept at working on a computer. She sharpened these skills during her employment with Sherwood Computer Service in Ord and Albion. This experience paved the way for her transition to serving as Secretary to the Superintendent at the local school, a role in which she excelled.
Linda always enjoyed cooking for others, so the idea of a bakery and catering service was a natural fit. Sandhills Reflection was born which allowed her to share her culinary talents with the community.
As life continued, she cultivated her green thumb by nurturing plants and flowers at Elyria Gardens during the spring and summer. Fall and winter months were filled with cooking for several local country schools. Further extending her compassionate nature, Linda accepted an Employment Assistance position with Hope Regional Foundation, where she supported other women.
In her spare time, Linda would be found in the yards, planting flowers, designing landscapes for Marty to bring to life, or canning the produce of their garden labors to share with others.
Survivors include her four children, Matthew (Landa) Robbins of Richland Springs, Texas, Melissa (Shane) Hood of Huron, South Dakota, Brenda (Paige) Burian of Manning, North Dakota and Erin (Justin) Mitchell of Amelia; nineteen grandchildren, Marriah Paulk (Cameron), Kellen Hood (Shay), Darrian Hood (Avery), Alanna Amrhien (Skyler), Brennen Hood, Rhayonna Hood, Braylynn Hood, Keeghann Hood, Natallia Hood, Amirra Hood, Brielle Hood, Shadera Burian, Shawna Burian, Shay Burian, Shyenna Burian, Dustin Robbins, Riley Jo Robbins, Sadey Jester (Cody) and Colby Mitchell; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Julie (Blane) Lowe and Tammy (Jerry) Rowse all of Burwell.
