Patrica (Patty) Ann Walkup, 72, of Chadron passed away on Friday, September 18, 2026.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 22, 2027, at the Heartland Assembly of God Church in Ord, NE. Pastor Tom Burkholder will officiate.
Memorials are suggested to the Heartland Assembly of God Church or to the Family. Patrica Ann was born August 13, 1954, in Ord, Nebraska to Gordon Dean and Joyce Ann (Hosch) Walkup. She was the oldest of five children. At the age of eight the family moved from Nebraska to California. Patty lived in Simi Valley, CA and graduated from Royal High School in 1976.
While living in California, Patty got her cosmetology license. She also had both her daughters, Linda and Angela. Patty and family moved back to Nebraska where she worked in a beauty shop. She eventually started her own beauty shop in her home and did hair for a number of years. Later she worked as a clerk at Casey’s General Store with her sister, Sue. Before retiring she had been a receptionist at the Valley County Health System.
Patty enjoyed bowling with her friends in the nearby town. She enjoyed going to Bingo in a variety of places with a number of friends. Patty enjoyed going to activities and sports events of her children as they grew up and eventually her grandkids and great family. Patty enjoyed going to coffee and visiting with friends at different places around Chadron.
Patty volunteered in many capacities including Bingo at Grandview, and the Valley View Senior Village. She enjoyed going to church; sewing, mending and making crafts, especially for family, friends and the front desk at VCHS. Patty enjoyed helping her friends and was involved at the Heartland Assembly of God Church while she lived in Ord. She enjoyed attending the hometown games of the kids/grandkids of friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Clubb of OR and Angela Martinez of NE; one sister: Joy (Rick) Kronholm of MO; two brothers: Gregory (Karen) Walkup of OR and Carl Walkup of MO; two nephews: Joshua and Jeremy Kronholm; two nieces: Christina Klopka and Misty Walkup; two granddaughters: Shawna Leth and Danielle Sliva; three grandsons: Justin Wilson, Cody Leth and Kristian Martinez; many great and great-great nieces and nephews; and some great-grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Sue Walkup; parents; grandparents; and many aunts and uncles.
