James Joseph “Joe” Dugan, of Neligh, Nebraska, formerly of Greeley, passed away peacefully in his sleep. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, veteran, farmer, and friend, Joe lived a life rooted in family, service, faith, and hard work.

Throughout his life, Joe maintained strong ties to farming and the Greeley community. He helped operate the family business, Rosemarie Dugan and Sons, for many years. He also purchased a welding shop in Greeley and continued farming into retirement. His knowledge and experience made him a valued mentor to many in both farming and trucking. He loved singing and playing in local bands with friends, sharing his voice and his love of music with others. Shortly after reuniting and marriage they built Dugan Southside Diner and Lounge in Greeley. Working side by side, they built a place where neighbors gathered and friendships grew. They sold the business approximately a year ago.
Family was an important part of Joe and Donna’s life together. Joe welcomed Donna’s daughters and their families into his life, becoming a beloved grandfather to another generation. He and Donna traveled to attend their grandchildren’s sporting events and remained involved in their lives until his passing. His grandchildren will treasure the laughter, family adventures, and memories they shared with him, including a memorable trip to Disney.
